Quiet Reflection Sunday
When you do things from your soul,
you feel a river moving in you....
Rumi
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and
New Year's. A busy time of the year. I enjoyed my family being
together for the holidays, the baking, the eating and the celebrating!
Above is a picture of an owl I made for my daughter's Christmas
present. It is made out of hand dyed linen and items from my piles
of found objects. The wood came from a tree that was cut down
in my neighborhood. It is so much fun to make things from the
heart. Luckily I am at the point in my life where I can work for
pleasure. I spent thirty years of my life making things for others
and teaching. I truly enjoyed those years, but to work for the sheer
enjoyment is a wonderful gift.
My word for this year is quiet. So encompassing. Do you make goals or resolutions? I would love to hear about them!
Have a wonderful day. Sue

Quiet Reflection Sunday
I
only went out
for a walk, and
finally concluded
to stay out till
sundown, for
going out, I
found, was really
going in.

Quiet Reflection Sunday
This morning, as I was searching for a quote powerful enough
to express my gratitude to all the men and women who have served, and the families who stayed behind, I couldn't find one that did not fall short. How does one thank a veteran and their family?
The only way I can think of is to not forget.

Quiet Reflection Sunday
Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth
find reserves of strength that will endure as long
as life lasts.
Rachel Carson
Good morning everyone. Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.
We are finally going to have a sunny day in Ohio.
I took the photo's above on a recent trip to visit my son in Dallas.
I was amazed at how large Dallas is, yet there is this oasis not to far from where my son lives. Such peace among the chaos.
For me, nature is where I am closest to God, where I feel alive and refreshed. Would you agree? Where do you go to refresh?
I can hardly wait to work in my garden today. My garden is ten years old and it's time to move things around. Plants have out grown their current spaces. So as I will be covering myself in soil, I hope you have fun too.

Quiet Reflection Sunday
One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song,
read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were
possible, to speak a few reasonable words.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I do love Sunday's, it is a time to relax, let your hair down
and for one day forget all the worries and the problems.
A day to settle my brain, give thinking a break and just enjoy.
I love to spend time with some of the elderly people
in my neighborhood. Have a cup of tea and listen to their
stories. We live in such a hectic world so it is a good thing
to take a trip down memory lane.
Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.
Do you like to hear stories from elderly relatives or friends?

Quiet Reflection Sunday
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice
at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow.

Quiet Reflection Sunday
Don't look at the world with your hands in your pockets.
To write about it you have to reach out and touch it.

Quiet Reflection Sunday
To often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile,
a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the
smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential
to turn a life around.

Quiet Reflection Sunday
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud,
was more painful than the risk it took to bloom.

Quiet Reflection Sunday-Christmas
...Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love
of God and love of our fellow man should prevail...
a time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of
our lives manifests the presence of God.
