QUIET REFLECTION SUNDAY

Winter is the time for comfort,
for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand
and for a talk beside the fire:
it is a time for home.

Quiet Reflection Sunday

Each leaf plays a note in the
symphony of autumn

Hello everyone, it has been a long time since I posted a Sunday reflection. I had decided to
close my blog, but have missed it so much.

Hope you all had a lovely summer and have
been enjoying the splendid fall. The colors in Ohio
have been spectacular this year. I have been
enjoying the warm weather as well.
Hibernation season is almost upon us.

As we move into the holiday season I hope to
keep in mind the "reason for the season". Hopefully I am not to busy that I forget love, charity and all the wonder of the season.

I'm curious, is anyone starting a new tradition
this year? It's always exciting to try something
new. I will be thinking of a new tradition myself in the next week or two.

Hope you all have a wonderful week and thank you for stopping by.

QUIET REFLECTION SUNDAY- May the stars...

May the stars
carry your sadness away,
May the flowers
fill your heart with beauty,
May hope forever
wipe away your tears,
And above all,
may silence make you strong.

Chief Dan George

Good Sunday morning to you all.
Hope you all made special memories
this past holiday season.

January is a reflective time of year
for me. A quiet time for listening in.
A time for the stillness of nature as
it rests, that is until a clipper arrives.

I do not set goals or make elaborate
plans, instead I make a priorities map.
I take a large sheet of paper and
randomly write my priorities.
ex: spirituality, family, artist etc..
Throughout the month, as I reflect,
I will write under the headings things I may want to do to move along my path.

It is not a path of change, such as I will loose 50 pounds, but rather adding quality to my life, as defined
by me.

Is there something you would like
to do this year that would add to
the quality of your life? Please share,
I enjoy reading what others are doing.

Have a good week! Keep warm!
For those of you in warm climates,
I could use your sun.

How A Baby Is Born

Yesterday my daughter sent me a text. Apparently my grandson
is curious about how babies are born. My daughter is pregnant,
so my grandson asked how the baby will get out of her stomach.
Smiling anyone? Well, let me tell you a story...

It was three weeks before Christmas, my brother, my children
and myself were out hunting for a Christmas tree. I decided
it would be great fun to cut our own tree down. So we drove
to the tree farm, or so I thought. It turned out to be a muddy
plowed farm field. Not to be discouraged by this adventure
we climbed through the field until we reached the trees.
The first tree was way to small, the second tree was just right, nice and big. My brother chopped the tree down and we carried it to
my car, it was extremely heavy. I owned a Chevette.
We got to the car, put the back seat
down and tried to fit the tree in. What a project, the tree was huge!
There was barely room for us to get in.

On the way home I was thinking, wow that was well done, when
my daughter asked how do babies get out of your vagina when
it is so small. Well that certainly brought me
out of Christmas dreams. I had to think quickly, how do I
explain to a 5 yr old, in simple terms, how babies are born?
I know my brother was waiting to hear how I was going to get
out of this one. My sons' ears were perked up as well, he did
not have a clue either. You could hear a pin drop in that car as everyone waited for an answer.

I finally told my daughter a vagina was like a really big rubber band,
it starts out small and then gets bigger. She said oh, ok and was
off onto a different subject. I, on the other hand, was exhausted.

**Just in case your interested, the tree had to be cut to fit the
height of the room. It also fell down after it was fully
decorated, but that's another story. Oh and after Christmas,
when I was taking it down, I found a birds nest in it.

Quiet Reflection Sunday

Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth
find reserves of strength that will endure as long
as life lasts.

Rachel Carson

Good morning everyone. Hope you are  having a wonderful Sunday.
We are finally going to have a sunny day in Ohio.
I took the photo's above on a recent trip to visit my son in Dallas.
I was amazed at how large Dallas is, yet there is this oasis not to far from where my son lives. Such peace among the chaos.
For me, nature is where I am closest to God, where I feel alive and refreshed. Would you agree? Where do you go to refresh?
I can hardly wait to work in my garden today. My garden is ten years old and it's time to move things around. Plants have out grown their current spaces. So as I will be covering myself in soil, I hope you have fun too.

We gain strength and courage and confidence by each experience
in which we really stop to look fear in the face.
