Quiet Reflection Sunday
To often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile,
a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the
smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential
to turn a life around.

My Artistic Side
I just love a bargain, so when a friend brought over these shoes and they were only $2.00, well how could I resist. I knew I would transform them, but with what?
So out came the baskets and suitcases full of lace. Who doesn't have a stash! After much searching
and getting side tracked, I found the perfect piece of lace. I sewed some pearls onto the lace and then
glued the lace to the shoe. I used Jewel-It, it is a great product. You just have to be careful not to put
the glue on to heavy because it will show.
Hope you all will try and re-make a pair of shoes. If you do let me know, I would love to see them.

Quiet Reflection Sunday
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud,
was more painful than the risk it took to bloom.

The Dye Garden
This year my garden focus will be on plants to use in dyeing fabric, paper and yarn. I will achieve this goal using specific plants that when added to a dye bath add color. Along the way I will record from beginning to end my results on this blog. I am going to use seeds and plants to make the dye garden.
As things stand right now I have used plants I've collected from the fields plus all the flowers my neighbors send over. I do not get fresh
bouquets but rather the dyeing bouquet. I love them all.
Hope you stay tuned, or perhaps try it at the same time!

The materials of wealth are in the earth,
the seas, and in their natural
