Ohio Barns

I have decided to photograph Ohio barns this summer. There are so many in the area. Some in good shape others not in great shape or deserted. All of the barns above are on working farms.

I took these photos in Amherst Ohio, about 40 miles from where I live. That day I was on the hunt for fresh cherries. There was a farm in the area that had wonderful cherry trees. After getting lost, and finding all these wonderful barns we arrived at our destination. There are very few left in the house now.

I like to support local farms as much as possible in a climate that gets below zero in the winter.

Well I hope you enjoyed looking at these barns as much as I enjoyed taking photos of them.

Please do not Pin my photographs. Thank you.

  2. I love this idea! I love seeing the barns around OH. I have such a longing for farm life, growing up in the city. I'm sure I would never be cut out for the hard work, though.

  7. These are beautiful! So many barns are falling into disrepair because farmers no longer need them to store hay. Such a shame; they're part of our heritage and I hate seeing them go.

  8. Amazing! Those were just one of the best set of barns I've ever seen! Those were really huge and unique ones. I've never seen as tall as the first one in the photo, and the paint just looks pretty great, very peel. And I must say white barns really looks pretty neat, attractive! I'm pretty sure you'd love to check out more great Hay Sheds and barns here!
